KenCraft Manufacturing Announces Product Name Change

A press release from KenCraft Manufacturing has announced the company's V-hull boat line name has been changed from Challenger to Sea King.

The naming change, effective with the introduction of the 2006 model line, was prompted by KenCraft management's vision to improve efficiency in the manufacturing processes and further their use of composite materials. Their aim, with both changes in place, is to position the company to compete more aggressively in the marketplace.

Beginning with the introduction of their Bay Rider line in 2003, KenCraft has been utilizing and evaluating many advanced composite manufacturing techniques. Their success with this line and confidence in the quality of these materials and techniques is the basis for the modifications in tooling and designs.

Kenneth Vick, president and founder of KenCraft Manufacturing, has been involved directly with the changes and evaluations and his satisfaction and enthusiasm spurred the decisions to change the manufacturing techniques and re-name the line.

"The new Sea King line is a more accurate reflection of who we are today and it will allow us to continue to grow our capabilities and expand into new markets," stated Vick. "We don't sit still. We're constantly innovating to meet the needs of our customers and the demands of the market."

The new Sea King line will be comprised of six models. There will be center consoles in 19, 21 and 23-foot lengths, a 19-foot dual console model and bay boats in 19 and 21-foot lengths.

All Sea King models take advantage of the known strength and durability characteristics of a 100% composite hull, while maintaining the high-end fit and finish, which has been a KenCraft trademark for years.

Sea King Boats will be available through the KenCraft dealer network, with territories available in selected markets.
